The history of a used car can be found on the government services portal

A service will soon appear on the Moscow government services portal pgu.mos.ru , with the help of which the buyer of a used car will be able to find out its history, RBC reports, citing Pavel Shevyrov, deputy head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology. The idea was announced back in April of this year, but then it was unclear what information everyone would be able to obtain upon request or for money, and what information only insurance companies and banks could obtain.

According to Shevyrov, the new service will help buyers obtain information about the car they are interested in: registration date, accident history and whether the car was stolen.

There will also be a service on the website with which you can appeal protocols on administrative violations.

The question of whether the provision of information will be paid for has not yet been resolved. In the original version, it was proposed to issue each answer for 150 rubles. Then, according to preliminary calculations, this service could bring more than 370 million rubles to the budget annually.

Experts believe that the new service will be in demand, even if it turns out to be paid. “Used cars are in demand, and knowing the history of the car you want to buy is extremely useful. The main thing is that the information is reliable, and that the authorities bear responsibility for it,” says Viktor Pokhmelkin, leader of the Russian Motorists Movement.
