The director of "Contemporary" was the ex-director of the Saratov Youth Theater

Valery Raikov, who previously led the Saratov Theater of the Young Spectators (Youth Theater) named after Yu.P. Kiseleva.

The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Moscow Culture Department Sergei Kapkov, the Russia-Culture television channel reports. The contract with Raikov is concluded for a period of one year.

Valery Raikov was born in 1959, at the Saratov Theater of the young spectator began to work in 1982 of the stage of the scene, then the head of the artistic and delivery unit. In 1986 he moved to the Saratov Academic Drama Theater. I.A. Ilekova, where he worked for almost 10 years.

From 1995 to July 2013, Raikov was the director of the Saratov Youth Theater named after Yu.P. Kiseleva. With the participation of Raikov, the problem of completing the new building of the Saratov Youth Theater was solved, which was built for 25 years and opened at the end of 2011. In the same year, the theater was included in the list of 10 best provincial Russian theaters according to Forbes magazine.
