23 Russians suffered in an accident in Thailand

A bus with tourists early on Friday in the morning in an accident in the vicinity of the Thai resort of Pattaya, 23 Russians were injured, RIA Novosti reports. In total, the bus was 51 tourist. They went on an excursion to the election trekking in the province of Kanchanaburi.

According to the latest data, out of 23 injured Russians, at least four are in serious condition. The victims were taken to hospitals in the district center of Sirach 30 kilometers from Pattaya and to the Bangkok hospital. Among the wounded - two children, the association of tour operators of Russia said.

The bus driver said that he had moved out of the road to avoid a collision with the car, and after that he crashed into a pillar. He claims that he did not exceed the set speed.

During the accident, all passengers were sleeping.

Thailand this year leads among countries in the number of various incidents with Russian tourists. According to the statistics of the Russian Union of Trade, from January 1 to November 10 of the current year, 30 incidents with Russians were recorded in Thailand, which is twice as much as during the same period of 2012. The number of those killed this year in Thailand amounted to 15 people (in 2012 - 9). According to this indicator, he took second place after Russia, where 26 people died. In Turkey, 2 people were killed (it was 5). 126 people were injured in Turkey, in Russia - 100, in Thailand - 92.
