On November 15, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the mayor of Astrakhan Mikhail Stolyarov, who won the elections of the head of local Socialist Revolutionaries Oleg Shein in 2012. Stolyarov was taken red -handed when receiving a bribe. The mayor’s early elections can be held in the spring of 2014.

I knew that this would happen, that Mikhail Stolyarov’s days at the City Hall were numbered. And for this I did not need to call the Minister of the Interior or the chairman of the Investigative Committee. I just read newspapers carefully.

A few weeks ago, at the departmental prosecutor’s office (at the departmental prosecutor’s sanatorium, on October 16–18, the conference “Combating corruption in Russia: the experience of regions and municipalities” was held. - The New Times) was a report on corruption in Astrakhan. This was the first call. And after the Kommersant newspaper with reference to sources in the Kremlin, information appeared that the Astrakhan administration has turned into a “criminal cloak” and that quick managerial decisions are required here, including with the participation of law enforcement agencies, it was already a funeral bell.

The arrest of the mayor of Astrakhan is the intervention of federal security forces, and who received the personal sanction of Vladimir Putin, which he publicly said. Therefore, everything is clear to me: Stolyarov will be convicted, and early elections will be held in the spring.

There is every reason to believe that the elections in Astrakhan will be honest. Nobody needs scandals in Astrakhan, especially on the eve of the governor’s elections, which will be held in September 2014.

The city administration in Astrakhan has always been completely independent of the regional. All issues in the city were resolved only for money, including the issues of counting votes. Therefore, in 2011, when we had elections to the regional Duma, in those areas of the city where the party candidates did not pay bribes, United Russia received only 5% of the vote.

In Astrakhan, signals from Moscow do not work at all, which was also confirmed by the elections of the mayor of Astrakhan in March last year. Then, I know, the chairman of the CEC Vladimir Churov and his deputies called in Astrakhan. They demanded that the elections go correctly. On the same day there were elections of the President of the Russian Federation, so no one needed an extra scandal in Astrakhan. But their signals were not taken into account.

Therefore, now the main problem is to achieve the stripping of those precinct election commissions, whose composition has not changed since 2012. But this is the problem of the federal center, he understands it, and I think he will take care of it.

This time, I believe, signals from Moscow will be taken into account.

Of course, it would be seductive for me to run for mayors of a self -nominated, collecting signatures of citizens. But given that now in the city election commission there are the same scammers who were sitting in 2012, there are risks that when collecting signatures, I will simply get a refusal to register. Therefore, it is logical to go from “fair Russia” - especially since this is my native party.

It is not yet clear who will be my opponent in the elections. But it seems to me that this election campaign will not require such extreme measures as last time. You don’t have to starve.
