"Rostelecom" froze VKontakte

The telecommunication company Rostelecom has announced a partial blocking of the largest VKontakte social network in the runet.

In Rostelecom, the restriction of access to the VKontakte website is explained by the decision of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow, Echo Moscow reports.

Digit.ru , citing the VKontakte press service, clarifies that the court recognized as extremist some materials posted on user pages.

Since technically it is possible to block not separate accounts, but only the IP addresses of servers, the VKontakte website was not available to users, in particular, in the Central Federal District.

Problems with access to the social network appeared last Friday. When entering the site, the message was displayed “It is not possible to undergo authorization on a protected connection”, Rostelecom explained the problems with a technical failure.
