Tate Britain opened after reconstruction

In London, the restoration of the Tate Britan Gallery ended. On Tuesday, November 19, the largest Museum of British art was opened to visitors.

The changes mainly affected the oldest part of the museum complex, built in 1893 by architect Sydney Smith.

The authors of the reconstruction project aimed to correct the shortcomings of the building - the main entrance with a high staircase along which the disabled could not rise, a cramped hall, at the same time preserving the monument of Victorian architecture, notes The Telegraph .

As a result of the work, the entrance is opened to the museum building from the Thames, under the central rotunda, a spiral staircase was installed, for the first time since the 1920s, the entrance to the circular balcony under the dome was opened.

In addition, ten new galleries, a special space for temporary exhibitions are opened in the museum. The exposure, including 500 works of art, is chronologically processed.
