In the country's leadership, it is not customary to dispute the decisions of President Vladimir Putin after they are already approved, to argue is permissible in the process of their development. The press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said this in an interview with The New Times magazine.
Peskov cited the example of the President’s tough reaction to the words of the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukaev and the chairman of the government Dmitry Medvedev. They spoke out against the bill introduced to the State Duma, which returns the right to investigative bodies to initiate tax crimes. "Putin reacted harshly. The fact is that during the development of the decision you can argue, offer alternatives, but when the decision was made, the public officials should not dispute. It is incorrect. It is not accepted," Peskov said.
Peskov admitted that his colleagues in Western countries communicate much more with the press, in particular, they conduct daily public briefings for journalists. However, according to the press secretary, the authorities took a lot of steps to become more open. “If the authorities do not give answers, someone else will do it. And if someone else does it, then his point of view will differ from the position of power,” Peskov noted.
Peskov refused to answer the question whether Putin met with his youngest daughter during a visit to Korea. “We never tell anything about the family of Vladimir Putin and we will not do this,” Peskov said. According to him, Putin believes that each person should have his own personal territory. For the president, this is a family.
"When the politician goes to the elections and people do not know what kind of person it is. And he must use the entire arsenal of data to convince voters: look, I’m like this, I have such a family, vote for me. Putin is well known to his voter, and those who vote for him no longer need to tell anything about him," Peskov explained.
On November 14, Putin stated that officials who violate the prevailing rules for discussing complex topics may follow the example of the ex-Minister of Finance Alexei Kudrin, who went to the expert community. "Regarding officials. We have long developed a certain practice, according to which we all discuss either on the government site or on the site of the presidential administration. We do it together and quite democratically. We all want to look, as they say, white and fluffy and liberal. But our task is not in this. We are not artists of the artistic genre. We must look for this kind of kind of sought. Balanced decisions that would ensure the interests of all groups of society - both the entrepreneurial community and the rest of the society.
On November 16, Peskov said that the Kremlindid not discuss the resignation of the government or individual officials in connection with recent criticism from Putin. "Of course, all officials defend their point of view, sometimes very hot disputes occur in the process of working meetings, in the process of working approvals, and so on, but arguing through the media, through public hypostasis is what is criticized," Peskov said.
“Here you do not need to cling to personalities, here you need to keep in mind mainly the principle, principle of unacceptability of publicity of the service process in the media,” the presidential spokesman emphasized.
