Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will give a traditional live interview on television on December 6, 2013, in which he will sum up the results of the outgoing year, Natalya Timakova, press secretary of the head of government, said on Tuesday.

“The interview will be held in a traditional format,” RIA Novosti quotes her statement . Timakova noted that the main topics of the interview would be the results of the government’s work in 2013, as well as current issues in the economic and social spheres.

A Conversation with the Prime Minister will air at noon on December 6. It will be broadcast live by VGTRK. Timakova expects the interview to last about 1.5 hours.

This year, the “Conversation with the Prime Minister” program will feature presenters from Channel One, VGTRK, REN TV, NTV and the Dozhd TV channel. Alexey Pivovarov, who left the NTV channel, will be replaced in the interview by Vadim Takmenev.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev first gave a television interview to journalists from five television companies in April 2012, when he left the presidential post. On December 7 of the same year, he gave an interview in this format already as Prime Minister. Timakova then explained that this format allows the interview to be addressed to the entire spectrum of television audiences - “from conservative to liberal.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a large press conference two weeks after Medvedev's television interview - on December 19, 2013. This will be Putin's ninth press conference as president. The last one took place in December last year. Putin, who returned to the Kremlin, spoke with those gathered for 4 hours and 33 minutes. In total, he managed to answer 81 questions. President Putin's first major press conference took place in July 2001 on the eve of the G8 summit.
