Switzerland program on Non/Fiction

Switzerland is an honorary guest of the International Fair of Intellectual Literature Non/Fiction, which takes place from November 27 to December 1 at the Central House of Center. Seventeen Swiss writers come to Moscow to meet with Russian readers, publishers and translators. Poets and novelists, playwrights and essays will present a rich, diverse and multilingual book culture. There will be discussions about the role of women and female literature, Swiss multilingualism and Swiss identity, political engagement of the modern writer and relevant topics for creativity. In total, about thirty discussions and meetings with readers will take place.

Anna Kuneo and Alberto Nessi: To be a writer in Switzerland

Participants in the discussion Anna Kuneo and Alberto Nessie symbolize the culture and literature of Switzerland. Romanist and translator Anna Kuneo is 77 years old, she lives between Zurich and Geneva. The poet and artist Alberto Nessie was born in Tichino, he was 73. The authors are talking about what makes the literature and writers of Switzerland so interesting.

Presentation of a joint project of publications "Snob" and "Our newspaper"

During the work of this literary project - from October 14, 2013 to the start of the fair - nine Russian authors and critics wrote an essay about nine Swiss authors and critics, whose works will be published in Russia in the near future. The task of the project is to introduce the Russian reader to modern Swiss literature. Presentation participants discuss the results - how many people visited the project page on the Internet, how this project helped to interest a wide audience in Russia, as well as Russians living in Switzerland by Swiss literature.

The past and present ”was published in the publishing house Rudomino. Nikolai Aleksandrov is widely known for the TV shows "Ecology of Literature" and the book of his interview.

They will discuss the play by Berfus “Bus”, which was recently published in the “anthology of modern Swiss drama”.

The All -Russian State Library of Foreign Literature (VGbil) and the Book Center of Rudomino Publishing House, together with the Helvetia Foundation and the Embassy of Switzerland in Moscow, will present a new “national” literary series “Literary Helvetia”, which is opened by the first Russian edition of the book of the famous Swiss critic and writer Peter von Matta. There will be a discussion of the history and prospects of Swiss literature in Russia and the world.

Charles Levinsky and Alexander Terekhov: invited to execution

In their books, both authors write about how a totalitarian car breaks the fate of people. The publishing house Eksmo was published by Charles Levinsky’s novel “Herron”, dedicated to the famous Kurt Herron (Herson), a talented director who was ordered to make a false propaganda film about the concentration camp of Terezin. Alexander Terekhov wrote a brilliant review of this novel. At the presentation, two writers and translator of the book Tatyana Nabatnikova will discuss the role of an artist in a totalitarian society, standing before them moral and universal human dilemmas.
