The Russian Museum has the world's largest collection of works by Casimir Malevich, with 101 work of painting, more than 50 graphic works, two architects and samples of applied art.
At the exhibition "Kazimir Malevich. Before and after the square ” , which will last until February 2014, about 100 works, costumes, as well as sketches of costumes and decorations will be presented.
The exhibition is dedicated to the two stages of the work of Casimir Malevich: before and after the Black Square (1915). Its central event will be the reconstruction of the opera-buff “Victory over the Sun” (1913) of the Moscow Theater of Music and Drama Stas Namin.
At the exhibition, costumes made specifically for the Russian Museum will be shown by students of SPbghpa named after A.L. Stieglitsa led by Olga Kalashnikova according to copyright sketches and using technologies close to original.
