Over the past year and a half, Russian Internet services managed to ensure that legal rental in the network of domestic paintings began after 4-6 weeks, and not a few months after the premiere in cinemas. For foreign blockbusters, this period remains much - from several months to a year.

“We wanted to release a“ geographer ”on the Internet simultaneously with cinemas to protect against the pirates,” said Vadim Goryainov, “it is clear that sooner or later a copy would have got into torrents, it was better to immediately put it on legal services.” For IVI, watching the film cost 349 rubles, on Play - 500-700 rubles, depending on the quality.

The rental of “Geographer” in Play and IVI raised about 2 million rubles - 20 times less than in the first week of rental in cinemas (45.5 million rubles).

When the film is again available for rental on the network, it is unknown.
