Actor Yuri Yakovlev died

The theater and cinema actor Yuri Yakovlev died at the 86th year of his life on Saturday night, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the director of the Vakhtangov Theater Evgeny Kryuk. The actor died in the hospital, where he was delivered after fainting. The director of the theater did not announce the cause of the death of Yakovlev. According to him, the time and place of farewell to the artist will be announced later.

Yuri Yakovlev was born in Moscow in 1928. In 1952, he graduated from the Schukin school and began to play at the Vakhtangov Theater. In just 51 years of work in the theater, he played more than 30 roles. The last of them was the role of Peter Sorin in the play "The Seagull" based on the simultaneous play of Anton Chekhov.

Yakovlev also played more than 70 roles in the cinema. The most famous film works include roles in the films "Ivan Vasilievich Changes the Profession", "Hussar Ballad", "Irony of Fate, or with a slight steam" and "Kin-dza-dza".
