"Big Book" opens the season

The Council of Experts of the National Literary Prize "Big Book" began receiving applications. It will continue until February 28, 2014.

According to the regulations on the award, the Council of Experts accepts the manuscript and works signed in the press from January 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014, RIA Novosti reports.

The authors, book publishers, the media, creative unions, federal state authorities, state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as members of the Literary Academy - the jury of the award can be put forward by the authors, the publication. Manuscripts can be put forward by all nominators except the authors themselves.

The Long List “Big Book” will be announced no later than April 30, 2014, a list of finalists, which may include no more than 15 works-until May 31, 2014. The names of the laureates will become known until December 1, 2014.

The jury of the award includes more than 100 people - professional writers and publishers, cultural figures, art, scientists, public figures, journalists and entrepreneurs.

The Big Book Premium Foundation is 6.1 million rubles. This season, Evgeny Vodolazkin for the novel “Lavr” received the main award.
