"Solidarity" with the Maidan

The picket of solidarity with Ukraine was held in Moscow by activists of the Solidarity movement and the Party of People's Freedom

One and a half dozen activists of the Solidarity movement and the Republican Party of People’s Freedom (Parnassus) reached a picket of solidarity with supporters of the integration of Ukraine with the European Union on December 2.

The action in Leontyevsky Lane at the building of the Embassy of Ukraine was not authorized by the authorities.

Co-chairman Parnassus Boris Nemtsov warned the police officers that the picket is held in accordance with the 31st article of the Constitution, guaranteeing citizens the right to peaceful public actions. The lieutenant colonel of the police replied: “If you do not violate, we will not break it either!”, And then warned: “We will detain”.

- We support the desire of Ukraine to Europe. We believe that Russia should also choose a European vector. The Movement "Solidarity", there are its activists, I have with them, and the RPR-Parnas officially stated that the European choice of Ukraine is very important. I can tell you that if Ukraine succeeds, then Russia also has a chance, ”said co -chairman Parnassus Boris Nemtsov. - They often ask me: "You are the co -chair of the Russian party. Why are you so involved in Ukrainian events?" Firstly, I consider Ukraine a very close to us and a friendly country. Secondly, I am absolutely sure that if democracy and freedom in Ukraine are triumphed, in Russia, too, sooner or later it will happen. Therefore, I have the best intentions. I think God grant that everything goes peacefully, calmly. It is terrible, of course, that the police were so cruelly dispersed by the Maidan. It is terrible that Yanukovych pretended that he had nothing to do with it. He, apparently, thinks Ukrainians and Russians for fools, I do not know. I still hope that the association agreement will be signed, and the elections will be held normally. I really hope for common sense that everything will be peaceful and calm. Ukraine has always been distinguished by just such a peaceful nature of shares.

Unfortunately, much more dramatic events took place yesterday. But, I think that this will no longer happen.
