"Sparrow Atom" by Alexander Delfinov
Berlin and Moscow read the magical poetic book of Alexander Delphin "Sparrow Atom." The All-Russian presentation was held at the Moscow Borodach Bar, the All-German Pandal Berlin Panda-Theater is being prepared. The Dolphin poet-analyzist, who lives in the capitals of two defeated empires, wears a pirate tunic strengthened by silver skulls, and believes that life is still able to defeat the death in an unknown science in a way.
Alexander Delfinov told Radio Liberty about the fate of the plumbing of Petrov, the sad statements of Berlin, the poetic slaves, the site "Derubsfobia" and verses on Facebook. Your browser does not support HTML5
Poet Alexander Delphin about the book "Sparrow Atom"
-
Many texts that entered this book, I read on your Facebook, that is, the publication is much preceded by paper edition. Everything instantly appears on the network, and the book is a tribute to the past, pre -Internet centuries? What are the relations between the two types of publication? -Of course, from the moment when it was possible to publish texts, not necessarily poetic, and any kind of texts on the network, making such a single samizdat, and I was always inclined to produce some objects such as books or magazines independently, and was involved in various samizdat projects, then, of course, I switched to the network. But it took me a certain amount of time to understand how I can use it. I came up with such an option in which I am conducting a poetic project in open mode, when people can read, make my amendments, swear at me and so on. This was due to two points. Firstly, at some point I stole a computer, and I lost a certain number of texts saved on this computer, and I decided that I would now store all the texts on the network on several resources in such a way that if I have stolen or I lose my computer, I would have everything left, I can always return to this. The second that I tried to publish a book somehow in the old fashioned way, as our grandfathers did was not succeeded in it. I, probably, are not the most successful author from the point of view of the commercial element, and secondly, if I was offered to do it at my own expense, then such prices were incredible, that I could not go for it. Therefore, I followed the path of an open poetic laboratory, Facebook came up very well for this. The Blog Service type LJ or other options were less adapted for this, and on Facebook, thanks to the system of social graph, when different people see the texts, the machine automatically shows them, it turned out for me a very convenient technology that attracted attention, such an interesting game arose. This game lasted in the area of three years or a little more. And then it turned out that I managed to make a book, which we have made by my favorite technology “Make yourself”, along with a group of people from Moscow. We made this book the literal sense of the word ourselves, I also cut paper on the machine. Nevertheless, this publication, we printed 500 copies now, has our own number, has all the necessary markings and is a real book.

- And the transfer of the text from LiveJournal or Facebook to paper and fixing the typographic machine changes the text itself? Where does the poem look more genuine for you? - I have to say that these are a little different carriers and this is the same difference as between song poetry and, for example, texts that are designed for slow reading from the sheet. That is, if you wrote a successful text for the song, this does not mean that this text will be well read from paper. Perhaps when transferring to paper, he will look just idiotic. Despite the fact that he can be beautiful as a song, convey incredible feelings, emotions, and on paper complete nonsense. This happens, not always, but it happens. These are different formats or, I don’t know what to name, the word “format” may not be the most accurate. As for the Internet, during this time, while I played this laboratory, I continue to do this, probably 90% of the written me - this is complete nonsense, nonsense in a bad sense. The remaining 10 is nonsense in a good way. Something is transferred, something is not. Some texts were subject to serious processing, including thanks to readers who were my editors, errors were corrected, which I did not notice at first. I have chosen 150 texts out of about two thousand, which have been written over the past 10 years.
- Remember, there was such a discussion at the beginning of the century: is there network literature? Then she subsided due to the meaninglessness of the question itself. - I came across this several times. I published a poem on Facebook, and there is a comment from an unfamiliar reader: “Oh, what a good poem. Did you write it yourself?” I say: "Yes, myself." The next comment after some time, she says: “Ah, I looked at your Facebook. You are just a network.” And all, she disappeared, putting a cross on me. That is, a network as a curse. There is such a moment, I imagined such a spider-tender, a terrible monster that pulls by the strings. I even liked it. It seems to me that the problem of network literature is far -fetched, because there is a certain phenomenon that we have been faced with over the past 100 years, throughout the 20th century it has developed. Walter Benjamin wrote about this regarding photography - this is a phenomenon of the possibility of light copying of products, on the one hand, and on the other hand, increasing literacy. It seems to me that now much more people write various kinds of texts than it was a hundred years ago. And accordingly, thanks to the technical capabilities such as the Internet, they can immediately upload all these texts. It just changes a cultural situation, changes it with regard to the existence of the text, changes the bunch of "reader - author", because it is already not clear who the author, who the reader, all mixed up. But this is no worse, no better, it just changes the situation. In this situation, someone will feel uncomfortable who is accustomed to more traditional simple relationships when the text was published in the journal, but for now it was not published, it seems to be not. On the contrary, someone will become easier for someone, someone in this situation will be able to realize himself with greater ease, find their audience. Further, everything decides, as before, the issue of the quality of the text, talent, the taste of this particular author. If a person has no brains, a bad taste, then neither the Internet nor a fat magazine will help him, nothing will save him.

-On paper, your texts look different, also because illustrations complement them in the book. You talked about the book as a collective project, and you have a full co -author - an artist, he even wrote a special preface to this book. - I even have two co -authors in this book. Alec Petuk, an artist who lives in Moscow, and Muscovites, perhaps, could notice him on various vernissages and some other public events, he always walks in a hare mask. He suggested that I publish this book, actually acted as an artist-former and, say, such a producer. As well as Violetta Gollnova, who made design and layout, in fact also attached her creative work. In a sense, we worked as a group. At some point, we realized that this grew a publishing project, but turned into a kind of group work. Now we have planned another project that expanding this book, we want to print several cards that will be complemented by this book, they will be published on a postcard, which have not been included in the book, and pictures of different artists that we invite will be used. And we plan something else, because we liked working together, we did, as it seems to us, a good book, we ourselves like it. Although, of course, the most interesting reaction to this book followed from my grandmother. My grandmother is 90 years old, she picked up a book, read and then said to me: “I understood everything - you went around censorship. But I’m afraid that there is a bad person who will give this book wherever it is not necessary.” Then a little cold was struck by me. I thought: yes, indeed, suddenly there is such a person.

- What is a sparrow atom, what does it look like? - A sparrow atom is a mystery, it is not clear how it looks. It seems to me like some heart in free flight, cuts out space. I doubted what to call the book, it occurred to me for this name for various reasons. But one way or another it occurred to me. I ended up in Vilnius, in the Republic of Zhuzhis visiting Thomas Chepaitis, who helped me organize a poetic reading, I called him the “sparrow atom”. Thomas really liked the name, in a sense he was the godfather of this name, because he supported this, and I realized that it was normal. And as I understood from the explanations of Thomas, which an interesting cultural region developed the justification of this name, using allusias with Lithuanian folklore, unfortunately, I can’t reproduce Lithuanian sayings that he recalled, but one way or another I realized that this name, its secret meaning is immortality. I thought: well, immortality is what interests us, we are interested in eternal life, let it be so.

- The book has the section “Gods and Heroes”. Describe your iconostasis, what portraits are there? -It is difficult for me to describe the iconostasis, because it is infinitely wide, and the spectrum of the personalities I deified somehow from punk rock to antiquity spreads. The book has Freud, Jung, and Karl Marx, and Daniil Harms, Anna Karenina, and Prigov, and David Bowie, and many other characters. But, of course, one must be neat, because these are not the real characters from the life that we remember - these are a little my characters. Nevertheless, some of them are very similar to those that were actually on our planet.
- You have a hero named Petrov ... -Petrov somehow appeared, obsessively popped up as a character in my texts in recent years, more and more often he began to appear. At some point I realized it. Of course, this Petrov is not invented by me, it has a certain tradition. Firstly, you can recall Oleg Grigoryev’s poem: “I asked the electrician Petrov:“ Why did you pull the wire on your neck? ”Petrov does not answer, only hangs and shakes his bots.” This is such a Leningradsky Petrov, apparently, the late 70s. And there is also Petrov at Daniil Harms, I don’t remember the poem, but it ends with the words: “Having clogged Petrov, they leave“ ready ”. Some terrible story is happening, and Petrov leaves the room in the coffin. This is Petrov, who dies all the time, but then comes to life, he is present in our cultural code. I don’t know where it came from, but I also got it, but I also got it. The whole chapter is dedicated, it is called “Petrov’s Life”.
- You are a cheerful person, but the book begins with a section on the black Monday, about depression. - Of course, I am a cheerful person, but invigorating idiocy is combined with a depressive unpromising. And it seems to me that this is so often, at least, there is such a banality about a cheerful clown: as soon as he leaves the arena, he is very sad. And since childhood I have been connected with clowns, it really happened karmically, probably, clown karma is inherent in me. That is, depression as a diagnosis, depression as a cultural image and depression as a great economic depression - this is all an important material for me that I have to work. Therefore, everything began with this.
- You formulate in your book five principles of humane poetics. Why did the poetry need humanism and would it hurt her? - damage, perhaps. There are no guarantees. This, of course, is such a manifesto, you should not take it too seriously, on the other hand, you should not take it too much. Because for many years, since at least 2000, a little earlier even, but consciously since 2000 I have been working with a poetic performance. I am very interested in the element of direct contact with the public, I am very interested in the element of performance from the stage or street performance - this is a very important element for me. In this sense, it seems to me that poetry has the right to turn to the viewer. This does not mean that the poet or writer, the writer does not have the right to close in the ivory tower and create only for himself, only for art, or for a narrow circle, or for a narrow circle of highly educated Slavists, or something else in that spirit, or engage in narrow-face experiments that are incomprehensible to a more or less massive reader or a more or less wide audience. It's all fine, let it be. But why should it be only that? My life experience in Europe showed that the heyday of the poetic movement in all countries, from Germany to Holland and Britain, not to mention America, occurs in here, there are public readings of various directions, the authors read, all this collects a large audience. For example, in Berlin on the final of the All -German poetic Slam several years ago, almost 4 thousand people gathered the hall. The poetic slam is only one of the directions of the stage poetry of modern, not the only one by no means and not even the main. Therefore, I also perceive myself as working in this direction. And so I formulated such principles in Russian, it sounds too pathetic, but nevertheless, let's say so as to give a voice to this movement, which turns face to the listener, facing the viewer. In this sense, it is humane poetics.

- You mentioned the experience of life in Europe. Now you live between Moscow and Berlin and in childhood often in Germany, and in Eastern, right? - Indeed, I was in childhood and in adolescence in the GDR, and this, of course, played a role. It so happened that my family was connected by friendship with one family in East Berlin, my mother went there, these people came to visit us in Moscow. I remember that in the late 80s we were on the verge of hunger, there was literally no food, the stores were empty and there was no money, some was an alarming situation, at least one such winter was. I remember that our friends from Eastern Germany sent us a huge parcel with conservatives, with chocolate-this was perceived as something wonderful against the backdrop of the bending Soviet Union. Then there was another situation when we ended up in the GDR, it seems, it was the New Year 87-88. We ended up on Christmas and for the New Year in East Germany and suddenly found that the Soviet Union is a completely free country in which publicity triumphs, we can talk about everything, and in the GDR there is some strange Stalinism. I remember that we were in the company where we offered to listen to the forbidden plate of Wolf Burman, Wolf Burman - this is such a Gader Galich, if you can compare. They pulled the plate on my eyes from the cache, put it on the player. Mom specifically explained to me that all of her are sitting here, that is, there are definitely no informers. This made a great impression on me, because at that moment it seemed that in Russia, in the Soviet Union, the situation was such that we could never return at a time when you can listen to music or something like that, hiding from the informers.
- Tell us about your Berlin. - I have one chapter in the book called “Berlin”. Here I must say that Berlin today represents a unique urban anomaly. Because two systems united here - socialist and capitalist. But in fact, everything is not so simple, and the capitalist system of West Berlin was not in pure form of capitalist, and West Berlin was in a sense an exhibition of the achievements of the capitalist economy, it was a city that lived on subsidies from West Germany. And when the city united, the subsidies were not needed, and they left the city. Once in West Berlin there were the largest number of millionaires and billionaires per capita, because it was an offshore in old times. And now, when Berlin is common, there is no offshore, all billionaires and millionaires have come from here. Therefore, the areas of former chic villas in the distant Western Berlin, they are dilapidated. If you stop there, then a strange feeling smells of a pension in the air, but there will never be a pension reform. On the other hand, in East Berlin there are some clubs, youth swirls, but also economically the city is very in a serious sag, there is 70 billion euros to the federal budget. But due to the fact that this is the capital, money still comes, there is such a life here, something happens anyway. That is, in fact, a city that is economically insolvent. If there were no pumping due to the fact that the capital, he would probably be in a very sad position. And so he is in a very strange status, when you can live for very little money here.

And you?

"I love you!".

2013 Vladimir Vladimirovich
