Museum of Cinema can be created in St. Petersburg

The team of the magazine "Session" made the initiative to create a cinema museum on the basis of Lenfilm.

“We can confidently say that the Russian viewer has a steady interest in cinema, primarily to the national one. However, this interest must be constantly supported and warmed up. International experience tells us that, based on educational and educational needs, in every large region there must be a full -fledged synemate, where anyone has access, ”the memorandum says.

At the conference in St. Petersburg, in which the director of the Museums of Cinema and Cinematics participated, as well as film critics and culturologists, it was said that in recent years, under the pressure of a professional community and press, the authorities recognized the importance of cinema museums, but is still not done. Following the conference, a memorandum was adopted, which offers the government to consider the possibility of developing the Sinematek - XXI Century project and choosing St. Petersburg as a pilot region to launch it.

Speaking at the forum on Tuesday, December 3, Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky said that in 2014, declared by the Year of Culture, special attention will be paid to the regions.
