
In the nine months of 2013, the Investigative Committee instituted about 30 thousand criminal cases of corruption crimes, according to the official representative of the TFR Vladimir Markin. This is four thousand more than the whole last year. Almost eight thousand cases have already entered the courts, of which 45 cases against organized groups and three against criminal communities.
More than 19 thousand officials were prosecuted. "In the criminal cases sent to the court this year, for committing corruption crimes, were involved as accused and persons with special legal status," Markin said. This refers to deputies of regional legislatures, representatives of executive and local self -government bodies, judges and prosecutors, law enforcement officers and the Investigative Committee itself.
"At the same time, the activities of the Investigative Committee are not only in the investigation of criminal cases, but also the improvement of the current legislation in this field. The TFR is an active participant in working groups to fulfill the Russian Federation of a number of international anti -corruption conventions, including the UN Convention against Corruption, the Council of Council of Criminal Responsibility, the Convention to Combat Foreign Office of Foreign Office implementation of international commercial transactions, ”said Markin.

Bastrykin also recalled the initiatives previously proposed by the Investigative Committee. Among them is the introduction of criminal liability of legal entities, counteracting the withdrawal of capital abroad through "one -day companies", the fight against financial pyramids.
"Today, at the state level, maximum efforts are being made to ensure our law enforcement officers, including the Investigative Committee with sufficient legal tools to combat corruption," said Irina Yarovaya, chairman of the Duma committee at the meeting.
On December 3, President Vladimir Putin created in his administration a separate department for combating corruption . The body was headed by Oleg Blory, who had previously been the acting head of the Presidential Administration on public service and personnel.

On November 26, the chairman of the Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin said that in Russia measures to combat corruption and illegal enrichment are unsatisfactory . According to the chairman of the Constitutional Court, one of the reasons for this is that Russia has not yet ratified Article 20 of the UN Convention against Corruption.
