With an inhuman face

The previous reorganization of RIA Novosti came just during the notorious Surkovsky propaganda. Of course, it can be argued that that era was no different from the current one, but I think when in the future we will want to understand the difference, the face of the official agency then will be vivid evidence that the difference was still.

RIA "News" of the second Putin and Medvedev rule was supposed to represent official Russia with a human person. Whether official Russia was really such - of course, this is a question that does not require a two -digit answer: authoritarianism was gaining momentum, Khodorkovsky sat, the economy degraded, more and more attached to oil, fought with Georgia, television finally turned into a rupe of national shame. But only RIA still demonstrated that in journalism, pluralism, professionalism, and respect for the one who have a different point of view are possible.

Even here, in Kyiv, I often put my colleagues as an example of the work of RIA, whose employees organized Russian-Ukrainian discussions, even without thinking about "convenient" interlocutors. And these round tables - by no means cheap, the luxury that the state office could afford - became news not only for Russian, but also for the Ukrainian media, helping us better understand the position of not only states, not only engaged in an experts, but also people with an independent position.

Well, the RIA international correspondent network is a special story. I am familiar with many colleagues who managed to maintain the prestige of Russian international journalism, despite the fact that in general in Russia there is a journalism. I imagine how it was not easy to maneuver Svetlana Mironyuk and her colleagues between the need to denote the official position of modern Russia and maintain self -esteem and prestige of the profession. But the truth is that working in RIA was not even ashamed even yesterday. A wide variety of claims could be made to the "News", but they will all be - with a human face.

And now they will - with the face of Dmitry Kiselev . This is a special person - and, I think that those who look at the best television propaganda of the country through the screen, and those who had the opportunity to work with Kiselev, evaluate the situation differently. This viewer Dmitry Kiselev may seem like a clever overwriter of facts, convinced of his own rightness. Anyone who knows Kiseleva better understands that no correctness interests him. This brilliantly educated, perfectly understanding in our profession, a person knows exactly where the white is and where is black, what is good and what is bad, where is good and where is evil.

And I’m not joking: it’s enough to get at least a program of the programs from the archives, which Kiselev once made about Europe and its values ​​to understand what is so. We in Kyiv at one time - even when we only thought about European integration - they twisted these films of Kiselev, so that no one had doubts about the civilizational choice of our country, and I have no doubt that among those who freeze on the Maidan, there are spectators of those very Kiselevsky works.

It’s just that Kiselev himself does not care about values. He, internally laughing at Putin, over other Kremlin bonzes, over all what he has to say, treats journalism as the art of ensuring his life comfort. It is such a staff that is needed by a regime that is a smeared - carriers of absolute cynicism, ready to pronounce any lie with a face emitting endless pleasure.

In a normal country, Dmitry Kiselev would be a brilliant internationalist who tells the viewer professional stories about the world. In Russia of the third term, he thickens the colors on the palette, realizing that the only viewer who interests him will like this. Because nothing depends on all the other millions of viewers in his life, and therefore they are not! And this is what Kiselev makes like Putin: for him there are no spectators, for the president - fellow citizens, and so, in the world of absolute emptiness, they live, trying to drag all the others into this dead, cold and false world.

This will be "Russia Today."
