
The Deposit Insurance Agency presented a claim to the owner of the bankrupt interprombank, ex-Senator Sergei Pugachev for 68.5 billion rubles for withdrawing money from a credit institution, Vedomosti reports. The lawsuit was also filed by three top managers of the institution, the total amount of claims is 75.7 billion rubles.
During his own investigation, the DIA came to the conclusion that the management and owner of the bank hid his real financial situation and did nothing to prevent his bankruptcy.
The structure of the bank, built by Pugachev, was complex and multi -level. Although the organization was managed through several offshore companies, the billionaire had the opportunity to give all the necessary instructions and make decisions.
The Central Bank withdrew the license from Interprombank in October 2010, when the finorganization was unable to pay off the loans issued by the regulator, as well as for Eurobligations. The financial authorities explained then that the bank in addition to a risky policy and provided false reports.
The debt of Interprombank to the Central Bank for unstivals at that time amounted to 32 billion rubles. The total amount of obligations exceeded 92 billion rubles.
