Now, banks in force in Greece are obliged to check the accounts of the controlled person within 10 days from the date of receipt of the request from the tax authorities and "carry out the confiscation of debt."

In addition, the district tax inspectorates, the service of combating financial crimes and the management of money laundering within 24 hours from the time of sending a request to the bank will have a complete picture of the accounts of the controlled person, as well as the loans received by him, the Greek agency emphasizes.

According to the Ministry of Public Order and Protection of the Citizen, more than 2.2 thousand people have been arrested for tax violations in the country. Their total debt exceeds 9.2 billion euros.

Earlier this year, we recall, the Greece Ministry of Finance said that he intends to recover 2 billion euros from deposits in Switzerland and that he counts on the help of the Swiss government in this matter.
