Dmitry Courland will release a disc for folk money

On the Internet there is a fundraiser for the release of the new disk of composer Dmitry Kurlandsky “The Riot of Spring” on the Fancymusic label. An electronic soundtrack will be recorded on the disk - a version of the work without an orchestra.

The crowdfunding project is carried out on the website Planeta.ru . Apparently, it will be successfully implemented, since it is required to collect 35 thousand rubles, 20 thousand have already received a day, and another 32 days remain until the end of the project.

“This money will go to pay for production (design, printing, circulation, etc.). - writes Dmitry Courland. “I hope that with your help the disk will be released in February 2014.”

The work of “The Riot of Spring” , created in the year of the century premiere of ballet Igor Stravinsky “Spring Spring”, the composer, according to him, is looking for answers to the questions “What is folklore today?”, “What today carries the energy of the collective unconscious?”, “It is destructive, or neutral for an elitist postmodernist Consciousness? ”,“ How much is this energy compatible with an academic concert situation? ”

“I am trying to find answers to these questions in an appeal to rave culture, to electronic dance music - Dubstep, IDM, D&B,” Kurlandsky reports.

The premiere of the orchestral version of The Riot of Spring performed by the Perm group Musicaeterna under the control of Theodore Curentsis took place on Ruhrtriennale in Bochum on October 5 and 6, 2013.
