In St. Petersburg, the “impossible objects” of Courland will be performed for the first time

On Sunday, December 22, on the new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, the St. Petersburg premiere of “Impossible objects” will be held-the synthetic project of Dmitry Courland and the Provmyz art group at the junction of modern academic music and video art.

Dmitry Kurlandsky conceived the essay “impossible objects” as a manifesto of his theory of “objective music”, the essence of which “in minimizing the subjective presence of the author and performers in the creation and performance of the work and subordinate all the compositional processes of a given or“ objective ”structure found, which determines the organization of time and distribution of the material of the essay.”

In the video “Provmyza”, an eternal object of art - man acts as “impossible object”. The authors rethink the eternal plot - the plasticity of the human body in various situations and contexts; Their image is a material filling the “temporary matrices” of the visual plan of essay. However, for artists, their show is not an end in itself: for them the being of the body symbolizes the being of the spirit.

In the project of the project in three cities (Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Petersburg), musicians from the leading centers of modern music of Russia: MAMM (Moscow ensemble of modern music), Noname -ansemble (Nizhny Novgorod) and Ensemble (Petersburg) participate.

The project “Impossible objects” was created by order of the Future Music festival and, in addition to the new scene of the Alexandrinsky Theater, is shown at the sites “Seventh Studio” (Platform project, Moscow) and “Arsenal” (PF GCSI, Nizhny Novgorod).
