First Arctic Sunrise crew member amnestied

On December 24, the first Arctic Sunrise crew member, Anthony Perret, was granted amnesty.

Earlier, Greenpeace reported that the Briton had been granted amnesty, but his name was not mentioned. The name of the amnestied activist became known to the BBC.

In addition, information appeared in the media that the cases against three activists, including the captain of the ship Peter Wilcox, were dropped, but Greenpeace denied this information.

“The information could have spread due to the fact that all members of the information are assigned meetings at the Federal Penitentiary Service. However, until the amnesty decree is received, the case does not stop,” Greenpeace press secretary Maria Favorskaya explained to The New Times.

Favorskaya added that most of the crew members will be released tomorrow, and their return home will depend on how quickly the Federal Migration Service prepares the necessary documents.
