All foreigners from the Arctic Sunrise vessel, amnestied in the case of hooliganism, left Russia, reports Lenta.ru with reference to the press service of the environmental organization.
The report clarifies that on Sunday the last of 26 foreign activists Greenpeace - Pole Tomash Dracyanchuk flew home. He decided to linger in St. Petersburg to show his parents a city, which, according to him, he really liked. The remaining 25 foreigners from Arctic Sunrise have already flown from Russia.
The crew of Arctic Sunrise and on board the Greenpeace activists took place in Russia in the case of hooliganism, but it was closed in connection with a wide amnesty declared in the country. Soon after, the defendants were issued output visas so that they could return home. In total, 30 people took place in the case, 26 of them were foreigners.
The ship Arctic Sunrise on September 19, 2013 was detained by Russian border guards. The reason for the detention was the action held by Greenpeace activists the day earlier at the Oil -Reinforcing Platform "Prirazlomnaya" in the Pechora Sea. Ecologists tried to climb the platform and hang on it a banner in defense of the Arctic. The investigation first regarded their actions as piracy, but then the case was retrained to an article on hooliganism. After this, activists who were in custody from the moment of detention were released on bail.
