Tymoshenko asks her to mitigate the conditions for serving a sentence

Ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, serving a seven-year conclusion, turned to the administration of the Kachanovsky colony in Kharkov with a request to mitigate her of the detention regime due to the expiration of a third of the appointed deadline. This was reported by the site headed by the ex-Prime Minister of the Fatherland party with reference to Sergey Vlasenko, a prisoner lawyer. In particular, the lawyer noted, Tymoshenko seeks to be allowed to freely leave the colony into the city.

According to Vlasenko, the colony administration has no right to refuse his client to satisfy this petition. Nevertheless, he added, he knows that on Saturday the jailers contrary to the law intend to reject Tymoshenko’s request.

Meanwhile, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine assured that the statement of the ex-Prime Minister would be considered at the next meeting of the supervisory board of the colony until the end of January.

Tymoshenko has been in conclusion since 2011 on charges of abuse of powers when concluding gas agreements with Russia. Since May 2012, it has been detained in the Kharkov Hospital "Capital" in connection with the disease of the spine. Now a number of other cases are being investigated in relation to the ex-Prime Minister. She herself rejects all the accusations against her, stating that the authorities were pursuing her for political reasons.

On November 25, Tymoshenko announced a hunger strike , protesting against the interruption of the country's authorities signing an integration agreement with the European Union. However, on December 7, she removed the hunger strike at the request of Euromaidan activists . On December 15, Participants of the People’s Act in Kiev demanded to free Tymoshenko among all other political prisoners.
