In the first round of the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine, the leaders of all three main opposition parties - "Fatherland", "Freedom" and the blow will participate. According to Interfax-Ukraine, the leader of the "Fatherland" Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced this on Saturday on the air of the channel. The politician recalled that such a decision was made by three parties in May 2013 and recorded in the appropriate agreement. Then, Yatsenyuk added, this document was officially published.
In accordance with the same agreement, the politician continued, that of the three candidates who will receive the largest number of votes in the first round, in the second round will act as a single opposition candidate. Yatsenyuk described the first round of elections as a kind of primaries of a single candidate.
“Victory is not to become the president, but to change the country,” the leader of the Fatherland noted. “And one president is not able to do this. Therefore, our victory is that the three opposition forces in 2014 form a unified victorious team of European changes.”
The Freedom Party is headed by Oleg Tyagnibok, and the party of the blow is the former world champion Vitaly Klitschko. On December 17, Klitschko announced that he was leaving sports . He explained this decision with the intention to focus on political activity.
Yatsenyuk also noted that in Ukraine there is a legal opportunity to hold early presidential elections in October. “Viktor Yanukovych was elected to one constitution, and received the powers according to a completely different - according to the old Constitution, Leonid Danilovich Kuchma,” the politician explained. “And because he received these excessive powers ... neither parliament nor the Ukrainian people voted.” At the same time, Yatsenyuk added, a decision on a return to the previous edition of the Constitution was adopted by a “pocket” constitutional court illegally.
The only correct legal mechanism that allows to introduce the old constitution, the politician called the vote in the Verkhovna Rada. In order for such a decision to go, 300 deputies out of 450 are required for it. The first step to the return of the former Basic Law, according to Yatsenyuk, should be the adoption of a resolution on the restoration of the Constitutional system in the country. The opposition is working so that this resolution receives 226 necessary deputy votes, the leader of the "Fatherland" added.
The adoption of such a decision, Yatsenyuk concluded, will mean that the presidential election should take place five months ahead of schedule, determined by the new Constitution. “Let me remind you,” he explained, “that according to the old constitution, the elections should take place on the last Sunday of October.”
In addition, the politician said that the Euromaidan in Kiev should continue until the presidential election. At the same time, he remarked, the opposition will be able to win, only "when the Maidan becomes the whole of Ukraine - from west to east."
“The Maidan does not have the right to stand, because if the Maidan is worth it, this means that we regress and not progress,” the leader of the Fatherland added. “That is why the Maidan has now introduced a new tactic - the tactics of certain partisan sorties when the Maidan goes to the police, to Yanukovych, Azarov, and the fisherman, when the Maidan protects his activists near the GAI, When the Maidan is constantly fighting for something.
