Without a pile of sin

Monument to Vladimir Lenin in the village of Andreevo-Ivanovka, Odessa region of Ukraine, collapsed spontaneously. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs based on the results of the investigation of a case, initiated after a breakdown of the monument. The expert did not find on the monument of traces of intentional damage.

The destruction of the monument in Andreevo-Ivanovka became known the day before . The gypsum monument glued from three parts, on the night of Friday to Saturday fell to the ground and split in two of the gluing lines from the blow.

The Nikolaevsky District Department of Internal Affairs of the region opened the case under part 2 of Article 298 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional illegal destruction, destruction or damage to cultural heritage), which provides for up to three years of colony.

In December, during the protest shares in Kiev , a monument to Lenin on Bessarabskaya Square was destroyed in Kiev. The monument was pushed from the pedestal and defeated with sledgehammers. Responsibility for the breakup of the monument was taken by the Nationalist Party "Freedom". At the time of the destruction of the monument, several thousand people were on the square around it. None of the participants in the action was detained. Nevertheless, the next day, upon the demolition of the monument, the metropolitan police opened the case under Article 294 of the Criminal Code of the country (riots).
