In China, the president of the Chinese railway company committed suicide, one of the largest railway construction companies. According to China’s business press, Bai Zhongen jumped out of the window. Presumably, he could do this because of the large debts of the company, reports South China Morning Post .

The press service of the Chinese Railway Company said that the president of the enterprise died as a result of an accident. However, as reported by the China Business News newspaper, referring to unnamed sources, Zhongena jumped out of the window of the fourth floor of his house. According to the business newspaper, 53-year-old Zhongen suffered from prolonged depression. This was told by his relatives, noting that in a depressed state the businessman was several years.

One of the reasons for the depression of Bai Zhongeni could be the major debts of his company. Despite the fact that the “Chinese railway company”, which is controlled by the government, according to Fortune magazine, takes 102 place in the ranking of the largest world companies, its debts amounted to 531.9 billion South -Wannas (64.6 billion euros). At the end of 2013, some branches of the enterprise hardly paid salaries to employees. Note that the company's assets at the end of the third quarter of 2013 were 626.5 billion yuan (76 billion euros), and 290 thousand people work in it.

It is not known whether Bai Zhongen was involved in any corruption scandals that shocked China’s railway sphere not so long ago. In the summer of 2013, the ex-minister of the railways of the PRC Liu Zhitsyun became a participant in a major trial in the case of corruption in the railway department. In July, he was sentenced to death with a delay of two years.

Zhitsyun was accused of bribery and abuse of office. According to the investigation, from 1986 to 2011 he received bribes from various persons, in total, in the amount of 64.6 million yuan ($ 10.53 million). In February 2011, he was removed from the post of head of the department for serious disciplinary violations, which served as the impetus to start the investigation of his involvement in a large corruption scandal in the field of railway construction.
