A car with the bodies of two people was found in the Stavropol Territory, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the operational headquarters of the regional department of the FSB. There was an explosive device next to the car; sappers destroyed it.

It is not specified in which area of the region the car was found. Earlier on Wednesday, January 8, it was reported that three cars containing the bodies of several men with gunshot wounds were discovered in the Predgorny and Kirovsky districts of the Stavropol Territory. An explosive device was planted near one of the cars; it went off when detected, but no one was injured as a result of the explosion.

As Interfax clarifies , a total of five corpses with gunshot wounds were found in four VAZ cars. So, two of the cars were found in the village of Zolskaya, Kirov district of Stavropol. In one of them, the body of a man with a gunshot wound was in the back seat, in the other - in the trunk.

In connection with the discovery of cars with bodies in the Predgorny and Kirov regions of the region on the evening of January 8, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced. The FSB department also issued an order to bring groups of security forces into readiness for combat use.

There was no information about the identities of the dead. Criminal cases have been opened under articles “murder”, “illegal trafficking in weapons”, “attack on the life of a law enforcement officer” and “illegal manufacture of weapons”.
