
Indian athletes, by decision of the International Olympic Committee, will play at the Games in Sochi under the Olympic flag, R-Sport reports with reference to Ar.
"In accordance with the decision of the Executive Council in December, the IOC will take all the necessary measures so that the Indian athletes who will play at the Games in Sochi take part in the competitions as independent participants in the Olympiad under the Olympic flag," the IOC statement said.
In December 2012, the IOC disqualified the NOC of India in connection with the intervention of the state in the election of the head of the organization, recognizing the elections invalid. The IOC also suspected Knock officials in corruption associated with the hosted games of 2010 in New Delhi.
Due to the fact that Nok India could not organize new elections before the start of the 2014 Olympics, the IOC decided that the Indians would compete in Sochi as independent athletes.
