The Bank of Russia filed a lawsuit in the Moscow Arbitration Court on the declaration of Investbank JSC, deprived of a license in December 2013, RIA Novosti reports.
At the time of the recall of the License on December 13, Investbank, as the Central Bank previously reported, "did not have sufficient cash flow" and "experienced visible difficulties in fulfilling obligations to customers and depositors."
The decision of the Central Bank was motivated by the “non -fulfillment by the Bank of regulatory acts and requirements for the normalization of activities”, as well as “establishing facts of significant inaccuracy of reporting data”.
Before this, the credit institution had difficulties with satisfying the appeals of all depositors to the early return of deposits "due to the unreasonable panic of depositors, which was caused by the incorrect interpretation of messages in the media and the forums."
"The excitement of the population provoked a lack of cash for issuing, in connection with which the management decided to temporarily suspend banking operations," the bank's press service reported on December 12.
Investbank OJSC, OJSC, was created in 1989 and served more than 430 thousand private customers and over 30 thousand enterprises and organizations. The bank ranked 80th place among the largest Russian banks, its assets amounted to 75.6 billion rubles, RBC agency recalls.
According to the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), the obligations to the bank depositors amount to 30.6 billion rubles, of which 29.4 billion rubles are in front of individuals. The insured event with the Investbank is the second largest payments for the entire period of the existence of the insurance mechanism. For comparison, payments to the Master Bank depositors amounted to 31.2 billion rubles.
