A shootout of border guards on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan: the number of victims is growing

The shootout between the border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred on the AK-SAI section of the Batken district of the same region. Initially, the Kyrgyz side reported three victims. Their number increased to five, and doctors estimate the condition of three border guards as extremely serious. The parties agreed to investigate the incident together.

Interfax, citing local media, reports that the first weapon was used by the commander of the special forces of the Tajik Border Service, who fired in the stomach of the Lieutenant of the GPS of Kyrgyzstan, after which the shootout began.

The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported that wounded in the border conflict continued to enter the hospital in the Batken region. "Currently, three wounded border guards are in the Batken territorial hospital. They have recorded: a through wound in the stomach, another bullet hit the right thigh, the third was delivered with a diagnosis of through bullet wound to the shoulder on the left," the Ministry of Health said.

The deputy prime miners of Kyrgyzstan Tokon Mamytov and Tajikistan Murodali Alimardon agreed to jointly conduct the investigation of the border incident. The chiefs of the main headquarters of border services, deputy ministers of the internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were sent to the scene of the incident. The interaction between the Governor of the Sogdian region of Tajikistan and the plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyzstan government in the Batken region was organized.
