His competitive program participates a film about Russian citizen Viktor Bute, who is serving as a punishment in the United States for weapons trafficking.
The festival will show 118 films distributed in five competitive programs - “American Famous Cinema”, “American Non -Great Cinema”, “Foreign Famous Cinema”, “Foreign Non -Great Cinema” and “NEXT” (films of young American directors).
Among the authors of the paintings of festival programs, 54 director of the Department, 34 of them participate in the competition. This year, 97 prime minister of full -length films will be held on Sundance .
The film Maxim Pozdovkin and Tony Gerber “The Notorious Mr. Bout ” will become one of the prime minister in the section of foreign documentary cinema . It will also show the Danish-Syrian film “Return To Homs” , about young Syrians, including the goalkeeper of the national football team pushed into the ranks of the opposition, RIA Novosti reports.
Among the participants in the American documentary program , Brian Nappenberger , The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz , about the Wunderkinda Aaron Schwarz, who committed suicide at 26 years old.
In the Sundance competition “American Film Cinema”, 16 films will be presented, including new works by Jim Mella and Joe Suonberg. In the section of foreign feature films, 12 world premieres will be held.
Outside the competition, films with the participation of AMI POLLER and Paul Radda ( “They Came Together” and Kira Knightley ( “Laggies” ) will be shown.
In addition to the film screenings on Sundace , lectures and discussions dedicated to various aspects of the cinema, as well as an extensive music program, are planned.
The Sundance festival will last until January 26th.
