The Basmanny Court of Moscow on Thursday granted the investigation's request to extend until April 14 the house arrest of former Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner, accused of abuse of power, RAPSI reports .

Thus, the court rejected Baumgertner’s defense request to change his preventive measure to a cash bail of 15 million rubles. In addition, the court clarified the territorial boundaries of permitted daily walks - from 19 to 21 hours on specific streets.

Vladislav Baumgertner was arrested in Minsk at the end of August 2013. He was charged under the article "abuse of power and official authority." He spent a month in a pre-trial detention center, after which he was transferred to house arrest. At the end of November, he was taken from Minsk to Moscow, where he was first placed in a pre-trial detention center and then transferred to house arrest. In Russia, the former head of Uralkali is also accused of abuse of power.

After his arrest, Uralkali changed owners.
