“Alla Yuryevna Shpolyanskaya died today, on Friday, after a serious short illness at the 76th year of her life. Farewell will take place in the foyer of the Moscow Art Theater, the exact date is still unknown, ”RIA Novosti, the assistant art director of the Moscow Art Theater Pavel Rudnev told RIA Novosti .
The theater website notes that Shpolyanskaya "came to the Art Theater under Oleg Efremov and performed a large, serious role in the formation of the appearance of modern Moscow time."
“She had a difficult, responsible work, and she performed her with truly knightly devotion. Appearing in the theater (before that, Shpolyanskaya worked in various cultural institutions of Crimea), she immediately took on the role of the zealous defender of the theater, and was true to this role until the end of her days, ”the Moscow Art Theater said.
Alla Shpolyanskaya was born in 1938, graduated from the journalism department of the Philology Faculty of Kazan State University. She worked in the editorial offices of Crimean newspapers, in the publishers of Crimea, in the Crimean State Academic Theater named after Maxim Gorky as the head of the literary part, in the Crimean State Philharmonic as deputy director for special matters (all -Union and international festivals and competitions).
Since 1990, she worked in Moscow, at first the senior expert of the Russian Culture Fund, then to the press secretary of the Russian National Symphony Orchestra, led by Mikhail Pletnev. Since 1994, she worked as the head of the literary part of the theater led by Oleg Tabakov, in 1996 she became an assistant to the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater.
PS Farewell to Alla Shpolyanskaya will be held on Sunday in the Building of the Chekhova Moscow Art Theater, RIA Novosti reports.
