
The Russian dance duet Elena Ilyin and Nikita Katsalapov won the silver medals of the European Figure Skating Championship, which takes place in Budapest.
According to the results of a short and arbitrary program, they scored 170.51 points, losing only to Italians Anna Kappellini and Luke Lanotta (171.61). On third place, the judges were placed by the British Penny Kums and Nicholas Bakland (158.69).
Two more domestic duets - Victoria Sinitsina/Ruslan Zhiganshin (153.73) and Ekaterina Ryazanova/Ilya Tkachenko (150.44) - are located in the final protocol in the 5th and 6th places, respectively.
Ilyins and Katsalapov become vice-champions of Europe for the second year in a row. At the last European championship, the couple lost 0.11 points to Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Soloviev.
