
The artistic director of the Moscow Vakhtangov Theater, the famous director Rimas Tuminas is now in the hospital where the scheduled examination is undergoing, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the director of the theater Kirill Krok.
"On Monday, Rimas Vladimirovich felt pain in the heart. An ambulance was caused, and doctors recommended conducting a planned examination. If everything goes fine, then on Saturday it would be written out, which we really hope," Krok said.
In 2012, the director celebrated the 60th anniversary.
Tuminas studied at the Lithuanian Conservatory, graduated from the State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) in Moscow. He began his directorial career in Lithuania, where from 1979 to 1990 he worked at the State Academic Theater of Drama Lithuania, and in 1990 he founded and headed the Small Drama Theater of Vilnius.
In Moscow, Tuminas staged performances in the theater. Stanislavsky, on the stage of "Contemporary". Since 2007, he became the artistic director of the theater. Vakhtangov, with whom he celebrated the 90th anniversary of the famous metropolitan troupe by the production of "Pier" according to the works of Brecht, Chekhov, Bunin, Pushkin, Strindberg, Lermontov.
On the stage of the Vakhtangov Theater, Tuminas staged the performances "The Last Moon", "The Wind is noisy in the poplars", "Tril and the Cressida" Shakespeare, "Uncle Vanya" Chekhov. The last performance received all possible awards, including the Golden Mask national theater award.
