Russia was not upset by the abolition of dinner with Vladimir Putin at the Russia-Es Summit in Brussels: one day is enough to discuss the most important issues, said Russian Permanential Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov.
The authorities of the European Union abolished the traditional dinner with President Putin in order to demonstrate that in a relationship not everything is safe after the fight against Moscow for Ukraine, Reuters reported. (Translation on the website inopressa.ru .)
The current summit will be several hours of negotiations between Putin, the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroza, the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompeem and their key advice, after which a working lunch will follow.
“I believe that the time that is now reserved for this discussion will be enough to discuss the most important issues of the Russian -Eugene strategic partnership,” Interfax quoted the interview with Chizhov’s Permanent for Russia 24 .
According to the diplomat, "in one, of course, there is, perhaps, logic that summites should not do what we would call" shallowem ". There are other formats for this, and I must say that other formats work."
Chizhov did not mention Ukraine. According to him, the EU leadership officially explained the change in the format by "the desire to focus on the nodal issues of our strategic partnership."
