- clashes on Grushevsky: Chronicle from Newsru.ua
The atmosphere on the Square of Nebulia, where on Sunday on the eighth "veche" gathered, according to various estimates, from 100 to 500 thousand people, was strikingly different from what was happening on Grushevsky Street, where part of the rallys went from the Maidan - about 30 thousand demonstrators. On the Maidan, in turn, they called for peaceful protest, the speeches of the leaders were interspersed with pop numbers.
The leader of the "Fatherland" Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced a plan of the opposition. The first is to create a people's Rada from among the people's deputies. The second - this body should obtain legitimacy from the people. The third is the formation of a new constitution. “We are starting a popular vote about the distrust of Yanukovych,” Yatsenyuk quoted UNIAN .
Yatsenyuk called for acting exclusively by law and adhere to the plan. A quick victory is impossible, he emphasized. “You understand why the massacre took place there? To legalize the“ Golden Eagle ”on the Maidan. The authorities will come out and say - you see, they went to the power scenario. And the Maidan will go,” Ukrainian Pravda quotes. Those who provoke violence are not with us, we will never allow war in Ukraine, a power scenario, he announced.
Vitaly Klitschko, who tried to prevent clashes on Grushevsky, returning to Euromaidan, turned to President Yanukovych, urging "stop the war against citizens of Ukraine" and "not to follow the path of Chausko and Gaddafi." Later, the leader of the Project party went to the private residence of Yanukovych in Mezhigorye for a personal meeting with him.
The leaders of the "Avtomaydan" called on to go blocking the Rada from the rostrum. Later, on the page of one of the leaders of the movement of Dmitry Bulatov, calls for peaceful protest also appeared: “Friends, a terrible thing happened today - the coordinators of Avtomaydan did not come to an agreement, individual leaders urged people to go to the Supreme Radu. We, Dmitry Bulatov, Sergey Vysarkov and Andrei Telizhzko, were not against the unmotivated use of force, we were not bloody. They called on people to go to the Grushevsky St., tried to convince other automatic carriers and civilians who joined us, not to give in to provocations of power, ”the statement said.
Yanukovych said he was ready for negotiations with the opposition
Closer to the night, Yatsenyuk said that President Yanukovych announced his readiness for negotiations with the opposition. “They announced that they were ready to start the negotiation process,” he said from the Maidan stage, noting that Yanukovych had just called him. According to the press service of the "Fatherland", Yatsenyuk claims that the secretary of the NSDC Andrei Klyuyev is responsible for these negotiations.
“I will tell you my vision. Firstly, the mandate for negotiations is only the Maidan mandate. Secondly, public negotiations. Thirdly, our negotiations are the fulfillment of our requirements: we must have honest transparent and public policy. We will fight for this and we will create such a policy in the country,” he added. According to Yatsenyuk, consultations will now be held between three opposition forces.
In turn, the leader of the Klitschko Party, having visited Mezhigorye, said that Yanukovych promised on Monday morning to create a commission from representatives of the presidential administration, the cabinet and representatives of the opposition, which would be engaged in the decision of the crisis in the country.
