The founder of the most popular Russian social network "VKontakte" Pavel Durov does not leave the post of general director of the company. This was announced on Twitter by the press secretary of VKontakte Georgy Lobushkin.
“Pavel Durov did not leave the post of general director of VKontakte,” wrote Lobsushkin. The source of Interfax, close to the shareholders of the social network, also confirmed that the founder of VKontakte remains the general director. "Someone has left, someone came, but Durov remains," the source said.
Earlier on Monday, Durov’s departure was reported by Izvestia with reference to a source familiar with the situation. The publication reported that most of the Durov team left the social network after the general director and moved to his new Telegram project - a service to exchange messages and pictures. This product uses the Mobile Telecommunication Protocol (MTPROTO) data transmission protocol, developed by Pavel Durov, Nikolai, Technical Director of VKontakte. The reasons for the departure of Durov and the team from the social network "Izvestia" were not called.
Lobsushkin then refused to comment on the situation. “I have nothing to answer for you yet,” said Lobushkin in response to the question whether Durov left the post of general director of the company.
