"Katti Sark" will turn into the theater

The famous Katti Sarkk sailboat, standing on the shores of Thames in the London district of Greenwich, will become a theater platform - Michael Edwards Studio Theatre will be located there.

The new theater with an 85-seater hall is named after the theater producer, which is part of the Council of the trustees of Katti Sark.

According to BBC , the performances of artists aboard Katti Sark will begin on January 29. The first season of Michael Edwards Studio Theater comics Ross Nouble and Alan Davis will open.

The Clipper "Katti Sark" was built in 1869. And he was one of the fastest sailboats in the history of shipbuilding - on a day it could pass up to 360 naval miles. Tea from India and Actralia were taken to England on it.

In Russia, the fame of Katti Sark brought the story of the same name by science fiction writer Ivan Efremov, published in 1944. The writer came up with a happy ending to the story of a sailboat: he is restored and put in the Dock in the United States. The story of Efremov was translated into foreign languages, including English, and possibly influenced the fate of the legendary clipper.
