The Lenin Museum disappeared in St. Petersburg

Museum V.I. Lenin on Merdobolskaya Street in St. Petersburg turned into a private apartment.

According to the Echo of Moscow radio station, local communists drew attention to this.

They demand that the authorities return Lenin’s last conspiratorial apartment to the property of the city and restore the exposition. The Communists held a series of single pickets dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Lenin's death.

At the same time, the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg specified that the museum at this address has not been not known for a long time, where the exposition took place.

In the house number 1 on Merdobolskaya Street there was an apartment of M.V. Fofanova, from October 7 (20) to October 24 (November 6), 1917, which served as the last conspiratorial asylum of Lenin.

In 1938, a memorial museum was opened in the apartment. In 1960, a memorial plaque dedicated to the stay of Lenin appeared on the house, in November 1967, a bust of Lenin was installed in the work of the sculptor E.G. Zakharova.

At the end of the house in front of the house (No. 2V) at the same time, a large -scale panel of the artist E.X. Nasibullin, depicting a worker and an employee, a soldier, a sailor. As well as Lenin’s path scheme from Fofanova’s apartment to Smolny on the night of October 25 (November 7).
