The touring infrastructure of Russia is such that it would be enough to identify Moscow, St. Petersburg and a couple more cities-millionaires on the country's concert map, and the medieval “lions are found here” on top of the rest of the territory. Tours of foreigners, with the exception of the traditionally loved Nazareth and Scorpions, are usually limited to visits in two capitals-or even one, if we are talking about something more specific, say, a frer jazz or an advanced rock. Yuri Longradsky is a rare pioneer who establishes concert navigation with personal ice -brown efforts. His company Muzenergo is based in the Dubna science city near Moscow, consists mainly of Longradsky himself, but at the same time successfully organizes for foreign, mainly near-jazz, musicians, recently from Switzerland, tours with five to seven stops and geography from Kaliningrad to Siberia. Last year, our hero was carried out by an completely unprecedented project - a bus expedition from Dubna to Tuvinsky Chadan with musicians from eight countries on board and concerts in each village where it was possible. And in this - expects to climb even further.
© Gevorka Khachatryan Muzenergot, final jam in the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic- Let's start with the story about what the Museenergot is, as it was last year and what you are going to do in this.
- “Muzenergot” is an idea that was born from my old love for one completely crazy festival in Tuva. This festival is called the “Utuu-Haure”, and it is held by the local, completely non-objective reality of attention enthusiasts. This festival was good because it took place with a clear declaration of certain spiritual values characteristic of that region - in order to restore the Buddhist church. He passed with the complete ignoring of all the laws of the market: musicians from some crazy Dali were written out, all issues related to conditions, fees were resolved in an extreme way-people were simply not embarrassed to speak openly about their modest financial capabilities. And all this made the impression of some kind of pure spring, actual art in the midst of all that madness in which we lived at the junction of the 90s and zero. I got a good kick there in all my production activities, I realized that you should not be afraid of what you want. Either it will turn out, or it will not work - that's all. In extreme cases, you will lose money - well, to hell with them. You just need to try and improve.
The Hippovian freemen, which all the musicians dream of: you are going somewhere, landscapes are replaced outside the window, no tomorrow and there is no day after tomorrow.
And then at some point I realized that over a few years of my own festival here in Dubna, I learned to work with foreign funds, grants, partners on a few different principles than the Tuvans do it, and now I can help them something. Quite unexpectedly, the idea appeared to bring some musicians to them-higher than the class than they could have been average. And we thought: why, in fact, do not put them on the bus and not to carry them directly through Russia, starting in my suburbs and finishing in Tuva? This is about 6500 kilometers one end. This idea captured me not only by the fact that it is such a freestyle of Hippovskaya, about which all the musicians still continue to dream: when you are going somewhere, landscapes are replaced by your window, there is no tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, there is such an endless nothing that you dissolve and get an uncomplicated pleasure, among other things, I liked this idea that we will spread my festival and my ideas to other cities. That is, instead of making 15 separate rounds, we will make one big tour and, in fact, we will achieve the same results. And, in general, I will not say that without any surprises and problems, but in 2013 all this took place.
© Vitaly Labutin Muzenergot, the whole team along with drivers at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power stationWe really drove for a month, from the end of June to the end of July. They played very different concerts at very different venues: in clubs, and in Philharmonic, and Openayers, and outside the city, and in the city; on folk festivals, jazz festivals; for money, without money; Two -hour concerts, three -day - that is, there was almost everything that is possible. Musicians from eight countries participated in the tour, the music was constantly changing, and at some point she even acquired a new quality: instead of playing their own programs, groups, realizing that they often didn’t have much time on stage, they began to recover, to rebuild, say, to drag both Chileans and Voronezh people completely. This, as it seemed to me, is such a new form of existence of touring music in our time - Vladimir Borisovich Feiertag called all this "is an extra -fired button tourism." I really liked this phrase, because it was really extra-ardent, really pseudo-turistic-well, because money-workings are not so important here as the idea itself-and really buffoles. Here, say, the balls remaining from the crazy Russian wedding lie behind the scene-so let's take some trio of Lucien Dubuis during the performance of some trio and arrange a Chinese dragon in the background, well, just like that, or, or something, or. In the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic, we gathered a full house. In summer. On Monday. Nobody, in my opinion, expected this, and the people who left there said: “Fir-fir trees, this is the best philharmonic concert of the year” is an accurate quote. It is clear that this was our audience, but nevertheless, I think we managed to bring some fresh stream.
"Here it is not necessary, do not bother, we have only drunks."
In 2014, we will repeat it all, the tour will be even longer: I hope that we will even reach Irkutsk, and not to Krasnoyarsk, now subject conversations are being held on this topic. There is a weak chance that we will reach Ulan-Ude. Our participation in serious festivals has already been confirmed, and after last year, both philharmonic and administrative structures react to our proposals with much greater enthusiasm. For example, a concert at the “Music Square” in Tambov was confirmed, the Tyumen Philharmonic, the same Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic, the Moscow festival “ The Jazz ”, St. Petersburg Jazz in the Peter and Paul Fortress, was confirmed. That is, all this acquires new colors - so in 2015 we look, and we will get to Vladivostok.
Plaistow - "The Mission "
- I know that this year you are trying to raise money with crowdfunding to just give a concert to one of the small cities on the way of the tour, - what is this project?
-The fact is that due to the complexity of the layout of such a large tour, an option inevitably arises to play in cities that do not have a budget or a special desire of the local administration to show all this at home. For the rest of my life I will remember the answer to one Madame from a certain Siberian town, which, being the head of the local cultural department, in response to a proposal to show them free for listeners The concert is free, because it was already clear to me that this day we would just go idle, ”said:“ Nobody needs it here, do not bother yourself, we have only drunks here. ” This is an accurate quote from a person from the cultural management about his own citizens. “We have some drunks here, we don’t need any jazz concert - thanks, go.” I realized that I want to return from the principle to some such cities and to the money that will not be tied to the local administration, to give these “drunks” in quotation marks to see what they are quite worthy to look at. This categorical non -recognition behind the Russian depth of the presence of the audience is very upsetting me all my life.
When we show people the music, we throw a stone into the water, completely no idea what circles will go there.
In my opinion, the audience is exactly the same everywhere, and for the perception of musical art one must have one ears. Everything else is transient: all this is education, experience, taste. You just have to start, and there the curve will take out. Therefore, we tried with the help of crowdfunding one of the potential 40 concerts of our summer tour to transfer to the shoulders of the sympathetic - as the first, already ended, round, not all of our lovers to speculate about the decline of culture are ready to invest in this matter. As a result, we are now conducting a second campaign, having already left the abstraction, choosing a very specific city and understanding where and when it will be - July 19 in the village of Dzerzhinskoye, Krasnoyarsk Territory. This is a place with a population of about eight thousand people, and there is a festival with the wonderful name "Iron Felix". This is a festival of rock music, which this year, specially, in order to show our strange jazz, is ready to move in terms of a month.
© Yuri Longrad collective photo with a frog and Swiss ensemble Keek, Moscow RegionWe collect the amount of only 35 thousand rubles in order to simply be able to comfortably spend the night, nothing more. Of course, musicians will play for free, of course, it will be free access for listeners and so on. If with the help of crowdfunding we will be able to gain something more significant than 35 thousand, we willingly give another concert to someone. There is absolutely no desire to play only in huge halls and festivals - there are beautiful and relatively small cities that we along the way and in which I just would like to visit. Ishim of the Tyumen region, Christmas trees. Kuibyshev Novosibirsk region. The names are somewhat worth it! I want there. Whether there will be such an opportunity, it is still incomprehensible. I will be very glad if one of the readers believes that your two hundred/three hundred/thousand/million rubles can really help people in this very Dzerzhinsky look in a new way to the music as a whole. We are not going to retrain anyone there, we are not going to tell them that this is real music - we just live on them that no one else will show them again. This is, in fact, the task.
Kaos Protokoll
“You can formulate, why are you doing all this at all?” Well, let's say love for music is understandable. But you can’t explain such projects alone.
- Well, here you have to start with the fact that I am definitely an audial person. In general, I probably don’t understand why it would be necessary to live if there were no music if there were no way to perceive it. Therefore, in my life I want to do only it, I’m sure that I have some ... not that taste, but a tool in order to bring music of a certain type to the attention of those interested, let’s say. I am very far from considering myself some kind of enlightener, God forbid, a teacher, a cultural player, but I feel that I was lucky to have this luxury-to share. That is, I can what is interesting for me personally, show the rest. Not contrasting this music with anything. I will never say that Stas Mikhailov is bad, and Pink Floyd is good. It can be so, but only in my head, nowhere else. Any other opinion has exactly the same right to life. The maximum that I can do in relation to who Like Stas Mikhailov is to correctly show him what I like, and try to give him the opportunity to think how I if it makes a corresponding impression on him. If it does not produce, it does not make it worse or better. In no case can people be divided by their attitude to one or another art - this is my firm belief. When we show people the music, we throw a stone into the water, completely no idea what circles will go there. This is not the production of goods, not the provision of services. Could there be commerce? Yes, probably, maybe if you learn to work well. I still know how to work very medium, so commerce here is extremely conditional. But all this organization is a completely frantic pleasure with which little can be compared.

- Tell me something else: where does this bus come from? And why have you been driving us almost exclusively to us almost exclusively?
- In fact, half of all my successes cost that, unlike numerous Russian structures - both state, commercial, and charitable - foreign organizations that declare the promotion of national music among their goals, this is what they do instead of explaining why they will not support us. I wrote a lot to the ambassadors, and to cultural funds, and in a variety of granting institutions - and almost always I received at least a clear description of what they want from me. Very often they didn’t give money: for example, because they work exclusively with non -profit organizations, and I have a normal Russian LLC, it is more convenient for me from the point of view of taxes. Well, no, no. And some of them clearly describe their procedures clearly, and the classic example here is just “about Helvetia”. There is no advertising, no sublimation, just this organization is the standard of how it should be. This whole story - including the history of the popularity of Plaistow in Russia, one of the most successful projects that I brought here - became possible due to the fact that people in a particular organization do what they should do there. Dot.
© Alexander Bityutsk Muzenergot, an overnight stay in the quasi -Russian house in the Moscow regionThe fund is based on the promotion of Swiss culture outside Switzerland; At some point, a letter comes to them from the completely unknown Yura Longradsky from Russia, which says: “I have a festival, I want to show Swiss artists here in Russia-will you say how to do this?” After one or two days, they reply from there: “Hello, Yuri, we have such a program, here are the conditions, here are six groups that we are ready to carry around the world according to this program, these are our Priority Bands -Read”. I read, I understand that I am in accordance with all the conditions, I listen, I say that I want this particular group - they say: “Without problems.” Six months later, the team arrives and receives a grant from “About Helvetia” to pay for transport - as a result, it turns out that it is much cheaper to bring three Swiss to Ufa than to bring there, I don’t know, three Chelyabinsk residents, for example, from a neighboring regional center. And all, the whole story.
Just in the Swiss organization, people are sitting who catch mice significantly better than you.
There are normal people who perform their functions. Which sometimes speak in direct text, that they do not understand and do not experience a special desire to understand the music that I carry from Switzerland, but they completely separate their professional duties and their personal addictions-they are engaged in ra-boo-toe . This is so, damn it, excellent - asking a constructive question, getting a constructive answer - that, in general, there is nothing more to wish. And I am frankly glad that this cooperation has taken place and continues, that thanks to their recommendations in Switzerland, there are more and more new groups that play what is interesting to me; And separately - the fact that in 2013-2015 the program “ Swiss Made in Russia” is operating, which opens the prospects for the collaboration of Russian and Swiss organizers, musicians in the framework of general projects. I have not seen anything like this in any other embassy or other cultural organization, and I, in addition to jokes, tried to work tight enough with more than 50 embassies. And I can not only praise “about Helvetia”, but also say to all other ambassadors and cultural attache: “My friends, now you are observing the influx of Swiss culture to Russia. But not because the Swiss culture is better than that exactly yours. She, of course, has her own face, but she is no better by an order of magnitude by definition. It’s just that people who catch mice are much better in the Swiss organization. ” But it is possible that in our concert life we are waiting for some other “national era”.
