In Transbaikalia, the arsonists destroyed 20 criminal cases stored in the FSKN department

Investigators of the city of Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky opened a criminal case in connection with the arson of the office of the Federal Drug Control Service. As a result, the fire destroyed the materials collected as part of two dozen investigations.

"The main reason for the fire is considered arson, which may be associated with the official activities of the drug control service," the official website of the regional administration of the IC of the Russian Federation reports.

The fire began at about 3:15 PM January 20, 2014 in the building of the department of the State Drug Control in Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky. The property of the UFSK department, as well as about 20 criminal cases in the production of the investigator of the drug police, completely burned out in the fire.

Meanwhile, the FSKN said that it was not necessary to start investigative work from scratch, and important documents were saved. "Operational, secret and other documents are timely evacuated and preserved. Fully preserved material evidence and documents of supervisory proceedings. All criminal cases lost and damaged by the fire (about 20) will be restored," the department explained.

They also added that the inter -district department of drug control works as usual. And in the fire no one was injured, RIA Novosti reports.

A criminal case has been instituted on this fact under Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional destruction of other people's property committed by arson).

Investigators examined the scene along with explosive specialists. As a result, "samples and items that are relevant to the investigation of the case were seized."

Not far from the FSKN building, investigators found a plastic bottle of gasoline. It is aimed at examination.

"Investigators interrogated police officers who were the first to arrive at the fire site, as well as employees of the drug control department," the RF IC noted.

The investigators-forensic investigators of the regional investigative department joined the investigation of the criminal case. Investigators instructed the police to hold a set of operational-search measures to establish persons involved in arson. They are helped by employees of regional departments of the FSB and drug police.
