Participants in the Olympiad in Sochi will spiritually support more than 100 clergymen

During the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014, confessional centers and prayer rooms of five world religions will work in the mountain and coastal clusters of the city of Sochi.

“Over a hundred clergymen will be on duty around the clock and provide spiritual and psychological assistance to the participants, guests and viewers of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi,” the Interfax press service told the Interfax agency.

The interlocutor of the agency noted that in the Olympic Park, which is located in the coastal cluster of the Adler district of Sochi, three interfaith centers will work, and in a mountain cluster in Krasnaya Polyana there are prayer rooms.

“The confessional centers and prayer rooms of the followers of the five largest religions - Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism will be presented,” the Vesti.Ru channel quoted the representatives of the city administration.

He stated that in the days of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi there will be representatives of Orthodox organizations, Jewish communities, the Buddhist traditional Kanghi , the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims , the Council of Muftis , Catholic and Protestant communities. However, there will be no mass regular services, the interlocutor noted.
