Ex-employee of the US intelligence officers Edward Snowden, who received a temporary asylum in Russia, held an online press conference on the night of January 24, reports Lenta.ru

Questions to the disgraced agent could be sent all day on January 23 through Twitter using a hash tag #asksnowden. The conference began at 20:00 Greenwich time (0:00 in Moscow).

Snowden’s communication with Internet users lasted almost two hours instead of the planned hour. During this time, Snowden managed to answer 13 questions, while the total number of questions is not reported.

In his answers, the former NSA employee, in particular, said that “not all espionage is bad”, but his concern is precisely mass surveillance of citizens. He denied the information of some media that he abducted passwords to receive incriminating evidence and deceived his colleagues. Snowden also said that he would not be able to return to the United States until the law on the protection of persons who committed public exposures will be changed.
