The Ministry of Defense will resume the tests "Bulava"

The Russian Ministry of Defense will continue the cycle of test launches of the Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile, Kommersant reports with reference to a source in the Main Headquarters of the Navy. According to preliminary plans, the launches will be resumed in May-June 2014, and they will be performed both from the white and the barrels of the seas.

Officially, in the Ministry of Defense, messages are neither about the resumption of launch of "maces", nor about the number of remaining missiles of this type will not comment on.

Tests "Bulava" began in 2004. In total, according to the publication, during the existence of the Bulava project, 46 missiles were created, of which 19 have already been launched from underwater missile carriers. Of the 19 launches, at least seven failed. Of the 27 rockets remaining in the military, five will be returned to the Votkinsk plant to re -equip telemetry equipment, which will allow specialists to receive data on the progress of the flight systems.

The latter at the moment was the launch of the Bulava in September 2013. The tests were unsuccessful. After starting from the underwater position from the missile underwater cruiser strategic purpose "Alexander Nevsky", the retractable nozzle of the second stage of the rocket was opened only partially, and its engine could not reach nominal traction. As a result, "Bulava" instead of impressing the intended target, fell into the Arctic Ocean.

Initially, it was planned to complete the control launches of the "maces" before the end of 2013. However, shortly after the unsuccessful launch of the rocket in September 2013, it was announced that the ending of the Bulava tests was transferred to 2014.
