The office of the mobile biennale of contemporary art Manifesta 10 - with spacious negotiations, a board of deadlines and a bear’s turquoise head.

Manifesta 10 is the only biennale of contemporary art that changes the venue every two years. In 2014, it will be held in Russia, in St. Petersburg, previously held in Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany and other countries.

In October, the Manifesta 10 team moved to the historical building on Kazan, 7. In 1842, the first savings cash desk in the Russian Empire was opened here, with which Sberbank was counting, and from 1880 to 1917 the Owner Council of the educational house of Empress Maria was located. Prior to moving the headquarters of the Manifesta 10, she was in the Hermitage XXI Century Foundation for Bolshaya Morskaya. But the growing staff of employees working on the organization of Biennale demanded a more spacious premises.

Designers Andrei Sheleutto and Irina Chekmareva, who were engaged in the interior of the new office, decided to focus on minimalism. The premises did not require special alterations or improvements, the only thing that they got rid of was a gleamed carpet. The floor was painted with ordinary paint, whitewashing the walls were refreshed. It took less than a month to repair.

The furniture was ordered in IKEA, and the gifts of familiar designers were used as decor items - the bear’s head, which Alexander Kanygin made, and the red pointer hear pointer from the Maximovich Design team.

Glass partitions were used to zoning the space. One of the walls was painted with black paint and began to be used as Mission Control Desk. All important work dates, announcements, deadlines, reminders and congratulations are recorded here.
