After the action, a petition was submitted to the reception of the President of the Russian Federation demanding the abolition of repressive laws that limit the right of Russian citizens to freedom to express opinions, meetings and associations.
The signature under the petition was set by more than 200 thousand people around the world.
“Freedom of expression of opinions is vital for the functioning of a healthy society. It is impossible to allow the Russian authorities to use the Olympics in Sochi for self -promotion against the backdrop of monstrous violations of human rights, ” - give the website of Amnesty International the words of Sergey Nikitin, the head of the organization in Russia.
According to the website of “Human Rights in Russia” , today hundreds of Amnesty International supporters around the world will deliver similar signed petitions to the Russian Dip -Criminal Procedure in their countries.
