Beeline cable television operator turned off the broadcasting of the Rain TV channel.

“At the moment, the broadcasting of the Rain TV channel on the Beeline network has been suspended. We apologize for the inconvenience, ” the statement said on the operator’s website. They refused to comment on the reason for the disconnection in the Beeline, reports Lenta.ru .

On January 26, on the air of the Rain television channel in the program dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the withdrawal of the blockade of Leningrad, the viewers were offered a survey “Was it necessary to pass Leningrad in order to save hundreds of thousands of lives?” The survey caused criticism from users of social networks, after which it was removed from the channel website. The leadership of the "rain" apologized.

The survey also attracted the attention of deputies, officials and public figures who expressed indignation at what happened. On January 28, the head of the Russian Cable Television Association, Yuri Podachkin, proposed to stop the channel’s broadcasting. Soon, cable and satellite television operators throughout the country began to turn off the rain.

As the reasons for the disconnection, some of the providers called the absence of contracts with the channel, while others directly stated the connection with the disconnection with the survey on the surrender of Leningrad. The Director General of Rain Natalya Sindeeva claims that the operators were instructed to stop the broadcasting of the channel under any pretext. She believes that a planned attack is on her channel.

On January 31, it became known that the Human Rights Council in the Russian Federation applied to the Prosecutor General to verify the legality of the actions of the operators who turned off the rain. Earlier, the prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg was asked to check the survey of the blockage of Leningrad for extremism.
